Put some new ones on last night, just good Bosch ones for about £16

Lovely clean quiet wipe. Just hangs off the screen a bit for the last 3cm or so on the passenger side, touches as soon as it moves up the screen an inch though.

However, the BMW ones seem much better engineered with extended leverage arms right out on both driver/passenger wipers, and a nicer looking spoiler on the driver blade... It seems a shame to waste these marvels of wiper engineering, and I have already removed the blades from them, and they appear to be 'refillable'

Does anyone know where we can source refills for the OE spec BMW wiper arms?

Also tempted by some of those aerotwin wipers as they felt really good on my last car (and their natural curvature helped them wrap across the screen perfectly at all positions)... do I just get 21" and 20" versions for any old car as they all seem identical anyway (from what I can tell, but don't want to get caught out :) )

Thanks for any help/advice.

Dave

I just put the aerotwin's on my car - just the straight 21 and 20 inch retrofit ones.

Just a couple of areas get missed though - bottom corner passenger side (by tax disk) and the top drivers side in the middle.... both areas I dont find a problem with. Otherwise took 5s to fit and are nice and quiet and good looking

Sounds good.

Just bought some on eBay (local guy who seems really competitive on prices)

Stupidly I've searched for Z4 Aerotwin high and low not seeming to see a kit for the 21/20 BMW size, but there is actually a kit for them (after doing a Z4 search with no results, but it actually saying Z4 in the applications list) so just FYI for others...

Thanks

I bought the stock oem blades, compared to the bosche they have 8 pressure points of contact compared to 6 and fit the screen contours better. :) Work quite well when new

Yep, I just put the BMW and Bosch ones side by side and pressed them on the screen and the BMW ones just curve beautifully in comparison. Even just pressing a finger in the middle of the blade results in a smooth arc on the BMW, vs an arc with flattened extremes with the Bosch.

I'm quite surprised that Bosch thing this is acceptable considering the extra mechanism isn't exactly high-tech... I doubt it'd add £1 extra and that is on their 'premium' blades... bit naff really.

How much are the BMW oems anyway? I never checked as I assumed they would be silly, but they look re-fillable which might be sensible!

I purchased the Bosche ones and wasn't that impressed with the way they don't sit very flush with the screen, I think I'll purchase BMW ones next time

I've been running Trico profiles (or whatever their brand name is) for over a year and while they have wiped well, not as good as the OEM.
After a bit of a farce with the rear wiper on a KA where I purchased 3 before I got one that actually cleaned the window - guess what and OEM... I plan to revert to the OEM BMW wipers soon.

I did however note some of the brand new Bimmers have really neat arms and flat blades and wonder if any of those could retrofit the Zed? Somehow they managed to get the mount to the side of the blade, not on top thus making them a real low profile.
