more power!!

hi everyone, has anyone managed to get more power out of their 2004 z4 3.0i without touching the ECU ?? i hope so ...

I was under the impression that the 3.0 was at about it's maximum. Induction kits don't really give any more power.
ECU chips can only give about 20 to 25 bhp more (correct me if I'm wrong) on this engine.

without spending silly money on the supercharger i dont think there is much, exhaust maybe but its been said on here bmw did a pretty good job on the oem system anyway that you wont get much gain, just more noise.

Are there any mechanical differences between a 2.5i and 2.5si? My 2.5i Sport has only 174bhp whilst 2.5si has 214 bhp.

bmw messed around a bit with the engines i think, my pre face lift 2003 2.5i is 192bhp (i think). but later additions to the range, the 2.2 & 2.0, i think they changed the bhp to fit acros the range, could be wrong though.

Totally different engine

My Z4 2.5i has N52B25 engine. So what is in the 2.5si? According to wikipedia, there are 2 versions of N52B25, 2.5si is more powerful version. Is it just ECU mapping?

Sorry - I was thinking pre and post facelift M54 Vs N52 engine. I'd need to pull some books out to check

Superchips can only increase 13 bhp for the 2.5i at a cost of £235. It got to be something else more than just ECU mapping. From BMW brochure, both 2.5i and 2.5si have same bore/stoke and compression ratio. I don't understand.

Put in super unleaded :)

Install a clean air filter, reseting the throttle adaption :)

Will feel quickish again.

after a day at Donington today, I would say that the power if fine - just get some good brakes!
