I am told by my local dealers that Isle of Man green may be available in a Z4 soon. Currently only on M models throughout the range but think it will look good on a G29 with beige / cream leather interior.

May consider that as and when.

That’s interesting. IOM green would look great on a Zed.

I’m seeing the dealer on Sunday, will definitely raise the question :)

I’m looking to pull the trigger on a new G29, it was going to be Thundernight but after seeing one at the dealers I was a tad disappointed.

Trouble is, there isn’t a great deal of choice in colour on the Z4. I had an E89 in Valencia Orange at one time, that was a great paint job, shone like fire in the sunshine!

Anyhow Boyo, your car looks great after detailing, enjoy many happy hours!
I agree over colour choice. I struggled and kept changing my mind. I just wanted something that was different to all the other colours I see daily on a variety of mundane cars (red and blue and thundernight are the best options IMHO). The magma interior on mine became the differentiator, so I became less concerned about the exterior and ended up with white to make the interior really pop.

Cheers. Thundernight is a bit marmite. It's looks quite a muted purple under a cloudy sky but when the sun comes out boy does it pop. It has generated a fair bit attention in the short space of time I have had it. I have seen IOM Green in the flesh on an M3 Touring, looks good but I am not a fan of green cars.

Please report back. It will be interesting if you get the same response from a different dealership.

Collected the car this morning and drove 50 miles home. Absolutely delighted with it. Tom Smith at Cotswold BMW Hereford has been superb. A few pictures of it in its unwashed state before it goes for detailing next week.

Any views the swap Boyo...? Glad you changed, any regrets etc,..?

Hey John, I am thrilled with the zed. Did a 600 mile round trip to North Norfolk a couple of weeks ago and the car was faultless on a real mixture of roads. Even managed to average just shy of 40 mpg. The Cayman was a fantastic car and I would be a liar to say I didn't miss it on occasions, however, it could be a bit of a headache sometimes. I am not overly impressed with the OPC network and I really do think they take the mickey with regard to servicing costs. The Porsche was coming up to 3 years old and I was having to consider extended warranty etc together with a major service at 4 years old. I have to say the Z4 is not far off the Porsche experience and I don't think the Porsche warrants an extra £25K ish.

The weather is overcast today and in my opinion Thundernight looks quite aubergine. It looks completely different in direct sunlight. Some fresh pics from today.

OOOoo, that IOM green would look stunning on a G29,, and agree on the beige interior...

Dave, was in at the dealership yesterday for a service on M40i and discussed with the Head of new car sales team a new Z4. He had recently been at a meeting in Germany re new cars/lci’s etc.

I asked about the IOM green and possible manual option.

He said this had been discussed both in general and VERY briefly on G29

All colour/spec changes will be lci related only. No expansion of individual colours etc to cover additional models. G29 will not have any further lci before production end date ergo, no additional colours will be made available, no spec changes/manuals. He did say that was all very much in his interpretation of the information given but the no further lci on the G29 was something specifically mentioned leading to his statement.

Yes, they do look aubergine when not in direct sunlight!

Sounds like the G29 is the end of the road for Z4's?
