More noise needed

Another exhaust thread :driving:
I want more burble and popping! I can hear it slightly on the oem exhaust so whats the potential?
Do Eissenmann do a single sided double exit exhaust?
Does the BMW 135i or 130 performance exhaust fit the e85/86?

More than likely i will stick with the oem exhaust as i cannot get the full note of it with the windows up in this weather :fuelfire:
Does the sport button add any extra growl to the exhaust note, like the mini cooper s that makes it pop and bang!

Try following a VXR8, with the roof down. Always works for me. I'm afraid the even the screeming zing, of the M54, at 8000 rpm can not compair.

Sport button doesn't do anything to the exhaust.

Search for "bypass pipes" - sounds like this mod may fit the bill for you.

I have heard a few on youtube and they sound a little rattley!!! If thats the correct word.

Does the bypass still pass MOTs?

Eisenmann do a single exit with twin pipes, or a dual exit with quads.

They are expensive mind you and some feedback I found indicated that they don't sound much different to stock, nor do they offer any tangible performance gain. (Though in truth I'm sure no system will for an already highly tuned 3.0 NA engine)

Solid research and results seem a bit thin in the ground to be honest and I haven't been able to find much conclusive info, nor any sound clips of alternatives that sound particularly great.

Think it's going to have to just be a leap of faith.

More noise with oem can be achieved by opening up the stock exhaust and removing the padding/ dampening fluff, and then rewelding it. Add a bypass pipe on top if you want to go all out.

I have a custom quad on mine, its pretty quiet under 4k rpm, less then stock possibly, but nice overruns and burbles. But after 4k rpm it had a nice rumble to it.

One of them passed me when I was on foot the other day - I nearly shat myself

Can anyone translate this please? I speak a little German and tried google translate but cannot understand what set up he has on the exhaust.
It sounds oem but like the burbles and pops it makes.

The comments sorry, there is no speaking on the actual video

Ok I have a German student stopping with me so this is her translation
The exhaust system is a complete system by Bastuck VSD and sounds brilliant .The inside is quite discreet ( in the sense its not to loud ) and is ok for long journeys
Hope this helps

I picked up a set of M Sport seats from another Si coupe owner on Sunday. He had done a full 'M' quad exhaust conversion including a bypass pipe.

He fired it up and then took me for a spin. It sounded fantastic outside and in - so much better than standard with a lovely burbling rasp but apparently as quiet as stock when just cruising.

Might be worth researching as I know there are some 'how to' threads on here.
