More E89 Colour coded pics - stealthy

Tidied my car up today, so I've taken a few pics to share. I've been 'individualising' the car, de-badging, reducing the amount of brightwork etc.

Black front grills, black tailpipes, colour coded roll hoops.

Still not sure whether to back out the front bumper 'blades' in the air intakes. Likewise, whether to buy replacement carbon mirrors to complete the look. - opinions?

Looking really good. It's almost as if that's how it should have looked. Loving the black tailpipes. Now that's a defo mod for the VO boys and gals!

Maybe but I'm still getting over having the black tip of my 120dx replaced under warranty twice in 18 months due to corrosion.

That's not good. I assume the black tip here is a BMW official OEM part and it's not been sprayed/dipped?

Sterling effort there. I was wondering as I hadn't seen any black tips of that size via BMW or anywhere for that matter!

There you techathy, it would look ace on your car.

Nice mods, I like it  . Any plans for the aluminium dash and trim inside? Kinda looks a bit bright now everything else has been 'toned down'.

Nice subtle mods, makes it individual without going OTT. I'd leave the blades in the front bumper - they are a nice touch and would be lost if blacked out.

How did you do the tips? What did you use?

Was it an easy job?

Really easy.
I masked up the rear sections of the car, then used wet & dry to get a good clean, matte surface. Black heat proof gloss spray that dries to an enamel finish. I guess any gloss high temp paint is fine. Whole process takes 20 mins.

I did this on my old 3.0 and it lasted a good couple of years before needing a fresh coat. I also did the back end of the back boxes as i hate that look when you're following a car and can see the boxes.

I really like the real carbon fibre ones but they are crazy prices.
