Morbid maths

I know my mind tends to work in mysterious ways, but a thought just occurred to me.

I wonder what the reduction in deaths from road or industrial accidents will be across the UK during this virus outbreak?

Given that a lot of road deaths are younger people, and it is primarily the older (or less healthy) people getting caught by the virus, there could even be an infinitesimally small reduction in the average age of our population.

And another thought.................I wonder what will happen to air quality and emission levels with the reduction in cars on the road and the lack of aircraft flying.
Yesterday was the first time I can ever recall looking into the sky and not seeing a single vapour trail!

Being completely honest id thought of both those things also.....more so the air quality however. Not that it’ll make a blind bit of difference mind, once this has blown over the norm will return albeit slowly I think. We’ll be paying for this current outbreak for decades to come.

China was rather clean it was reported after they stopped manufacturing.

And aircraft, about time that they reduce the number of unnecessary flights.

If you want some morbid maths. Try figuring if the number of older folk that die and cease to draw a pension, will make up for the amount wiped of the value of the pensions of those that make it through.

I thought that too buzy, then I remembered my mother is in her 90s! :o

Shame her care home have stopped allowing visits, even if that is eminently sensible. But it means my sister and I won't be able to see her on Mother's Day, or her birthday (2 April).

Bloody Chinese exports! :headbang:

I hear undertakers are gearing up for a good 2nd quarter for 2020!!!!

ok, a bit sick but we are talking about some morbid stuff.

I was also thinking the post office (ha, if you can find one!) will be quiet on Thursdays, but Deb told me most people get their pensions electronically now....
