I have been speaking to a company that make fiberglass body parts for BMWs as i would like my bumper remade in fiberglass. They are happy to make them but would need 5 people interested. I would keep 2 for myself.

So if you have fancied a new bumper. And something a bit different to the norm and very exclusive. let me know. I dont know about price yet i would want to know if there are any interested party's before i waste there time any more.


They have also said they could make the M bonnet out of Fiberglas as well. I would need to try and get one from somewhere and again would need 4-5 others interested.

Hear is a kit they make for the e89
 
hmmmm...I may be tempted by the bumper depending on how it looked...what about foglights as facelift and pre obviously differ?
 
Well you would either need to get some. Or use the holes for brake cooling. I cant imagine the fog lights hard to come by. As so many on hear convert to M or face lift bumpers.
 
Well after sending a few emails. I just called them. Bumpers would £250 primed ready to fit.

Fiberglas M bonnets £300-£500 pried ready to fit. Using all of you original hinges and latches and things.
 
I could as i have a spray booth. Supply them painted ready to fit for a small fee to cover my time and material costs.

I do need 3-4 others to want one. So that they will make the mold.
 
Hi mate if I didn't have an M front bumper already I would definitely put my name down for one of these, I might still
have one Im going to see a couple of bumper specialists this week about getting mine plastic welded and sprayed so depending
on the price I get I might have one, I will PM you at the end of the week MM

Hi Matt, what do you reckon the weight saving would be for the bumper/bonnet? And sorry to ask the same question as someone else, but will this carry holes for pre or post facelift fogs (i.e round or rectangle)? Just want to be 100% sure.

After deciding that I absolutely, categorically won't spend any more money on my car, I must say I'd be very tempted by an M bonnet :headbang:

Hi Matt

Are these exact replicas\copies of the original M bumper, or are they slightly different? And would they simply mount on the existing fittings ? ie I have a Z4 Coupe, and wasnt sure if the bumpers are interchangeable between the facelift cars and the non facelifts.

The bumper will be made from a mould of my bumper so it will be the round fog lights only. As for wight saving i have no idea probably not much if anything from a standard bumper.

I am not sure at this stage as i have only briefly spoken to the company about feasibility. They are 100% confident they can make them.

They would use all original bonnet fixtures and fittings. Hinges catch washer jets would just swap over.

The biggest problem i have with the bonnet is getting one for them to use to make a mould. I would imagine quite a wight saving on the bonnet over the aluminum one.
 
I'm not that interested in replacing the bonnet, but I really dislike my front bumper ! So would love to get a Z4M front bumper on mine, but as you mention, would want to keep the headlight washers. Not fussed about the fog lights, I don't drive in the fog !

The bumper being made is not an m bumper. My bumper I made from a standard pre face lift bumper. And that is what I am looking at getting made. It's much more exclusive as there will only be 5-10 z4s in the world with one :thumbsup:
