Monkey exhaust tips

Looks good, perfect size! Is that brushed in and out? Hard to tell. But would look even better if the original silencer exit were cut back first. I'm hoping MM will do that when welding mine on :) Maybe the ///M doesn't have the same problem.

I will be making more soon. I have a few orders in at the moment. And fixing a few issues with some others. The 85mm ones are a pain to get right.

I have probably too much going on at the moment with the building work, And work(the day job is mega busy) And i just dont seem to have the time to make them as quick as i would like. I am hopping by the end of February to be finished the building work. I then plan to get all the machinery in and have a month of production exhaust tips strut braces gear knobs and other bits and bobs.

I thought the original silencers were bolted on, so that you remove them and then fit the MM ones instead of them, rather than over the top as the pic above shows? :?

I'm not being funny but Taz's look too big compared to the original pipes!!??
Is that how they come or did Taz have bigger on purpose?

The standard covers are bolted onto the original backbox pipes. You can remove the chrome tip covers, but that still leaves the crappy mild steel pipes in place.

I'm sure you could cut them down if wanted, but obviously the new covers are bolted onto these so can't cut them all the way back to the box.

Wait till you see mine fitted!

I've gone for the larger version!

If they look poo i may well get the originals cut back and the MM tips welded on.

If you compare with the original push on exhaust tips . The BMW ones have a rolled end which neatly hides the mild steel pipes inside giving it a more finished appearance . All be it more expensive .

If you use some Autosol and clean the mild steel pipes then they will blend in and look sooooo much better :poke:

The originals are black so they'll never blend in to the polished MM tips!

I let the insides of the original pipes and the monkey pipes get completely sooted up (black) and only polish the outside. Looks good.

Have seen plenty of pics of MM tips and they look pretty slick to me. So much so I should receive my very own set by the weekend ......
