Since we mentioned BMW engineers, who remembers why the Z4 outside door handles are recessed further than most? :poke:

I have a horrible feeling this is something to do with long fingernails...

And the winner is...

I was very excited to find the cubbies under the seats. So excited I brought my wife out to the garage and showed her. I was almost as excited to find that the seats have a pocket in the rear.

(FYI - I did the same thing on the gas cap)

Knew about the 'gas' cap, and the first aid kit cubby... But is there one under the driver's seat too ? Must go and check right now !

both seats have them in mine and both seats have the pockets on the back of the seats

Just checked - was hopeful as it's an Si Sport... But alas I do not have a driver seat cubby (have pockets on the back though, but knew about them). Wonder why the American zed has one and I don't ? Feeling cheated :x

You know what, I thought about posting exactly that, but I decided at the last second to delete the sentence in the interests of international relations :D

I was imagining a nice little foam insert with a custom cut hole for your gun 8)

any other hidden gem new owners can learn from?

I only recently discovered the "FOLLOW ME HOME" headlight thingy ...

1. Arrive at your destination at night ... stop car ... take keys out of ignition ...
2. Flash your headlights (pull the full beam stalk towards you and let go) ... Headlights and rears come on and will stay on for about 90 secs and then go off.

Get out of car, lock her ... and walk away admiring your fancy lights as you go. The rear retro coil lights are particularly pretty at night.

Spotted the petrol cap holder first fill up. Found the med kit first clean. However I bought a nice shiney triangle thingy ready for my trip to Spa, then found the one in the boot as I was packing. :headbang:

Something else I didn't know !

Next you'll be telling me the professional satnav has a 'take me home' function so I can drive to the pub in the summer, get lashed, then be driven home hands-free :driving:

yah, heard the light one... how do i make the lights flash when i lock the car, i would also like it to make a sound... right now it just locks and i always listen to the locks to make sure it worked...

Tried this today and it worked very useful

Well if we are on about lights, did you know if you park up and lock the Zed with the indicator stalk in the right turn position the right hand side tail and side light come as marker lights and vice versa.
The fuel filler cap is the first thing I look whenever filling a car up for the first time.
The 2nd storage bin under under the drivers is probably a 2nd empty 1st Aid Kit box as retrofitted by members on here.
