Well I fitted a few of my bits,

M Tech front disks, drilled and grooved, new pads, larger support arms.
12mm spacers all round.
New 40mm bolts and lockers.

And a rip speed stubby.

No more tram lining and somewhat improved stopping.
Not convinced with the stubby but time will tell.

Already did just that Johnny. Used silver rust preventer and silver coloured copper grease when assembling the spacers so I can at least get them off later.

Had to drill one of the retaining screws but managed to remove it without any damage to the hub.

I would advise all to spray silver on the hubs inner and outter edges to avoid this if a long term upgrade

This is why I went with pagid discs from. Ecp, they still look good as new after being on the car a couple of months. Shame MTEC don't use the same coating.

What silver rust preventer did you use?
 
I used a loctite product that I have had for years, don't even know if it's made anymore as I used to be a rep for them in the eighties...... :(

This. My e36 has been sitting for a while and the discs are so shiny!
 
Anyone care to voice an opinion on rattling from underneath, it seemed to disappear after jacking it up and doing all the brakes and spacers but now I can hear it again.

It a tinny kind of rattle.
 
Did you put the retaining clip back on your calipers?? It could be your brake pads rattling in the caliper.
 
The mad bit is all parts are and were fitted correctly, all I can think is by jacking up the car I disturbed something that is now beginning to settle back into "rattle mode" !
