Modified CDV group buy?

Just drop by :) The M is slightly different from the 2.5 and 3.0 done so far (i.e. the M has a plate that has to be removed first).

We will organise the swapping method I think, I have no problem in sending mine on for free.
 
Alright this has gathered more interest than I anticipated! Basically it's £45 quid posted here from the US, plus fitting at a garage and possible customs charges. I realise that some of you guys have tools and enough technical nous to do this job yourselves, whilst others (i.e. me) have no tooling or experience so this looked like the easy solution.

All everyone interested wants to achieve is the mod itself, if you senior z4 forumites have a plan we'd happily defer to you - as you can see there's a fairly healthy demand so we'd be happy to pay you a fair premium for sorting this instead of ordering from the US!

In defence of Zeckhausen they recommended that you don't need a modded valve either, which I'd be happy with but for the warranty issue...

If we need an M donor to start this off i'm happy to volunteer my car!

Which reminds me.... I need to get this mod done. What's the best way to "pop" it out? I have a flat head screw which is a perfect width. though i could hammer it out? thoughts anyone?

I followed the how-to from srhutch, with a drill bit and mallet for force. I could always take tools to work and meet you there with it if that helps?
 
Like tjlaser I have no technical ability to take mine off, mod it and put it make together again....

Can anyone help; happy to pay, buy a couple of drinks, or donate some money to the site.

Alternatively can someone recommend a good Indy near Twickenham or Richmond that could do this for us?

Thanks Gannet, might have to take you up on that...

I think i just messed it up.... was tapping away lightly and the screw just went through after a while. the inner small diameter bit is no longer there and nothing actually came out.
there still seems to be something (guessing the bit that's supposed to come out) still spinning inside. Do you I need to get another one then? :headbang:

That's what happened on the new one I bought :(
 
I have mine on order from Joe @ Soper (£22 delievered). I'm gonna have a crack at it myself :cry: . If there is anyone in the Leeds area that also want's to mod why not join/help me then once my existing valve is removed we can mod it and do the same to your zed?

Failing that, if successful will happily send removed valve to a forum member :D
