Mobile valet recommendations - London

have been regulary washing the zed at a local gas station with pressure wash (my own sponges, soap etc) and things have been good. The access road is now a nightmare owing to some pretty serious roadworks. Around where we live (Kensington) the gas stations are tiny and rammed with petrol pumps (chelsea tractors and small supermarkets also) but alas no jet wash. The supermarket guys scratched the hell out of the old car and I promised never to let them touch the zed!

I think i have two options...
1) regular carwash, although not sure where there is one and what it would do to the soft top/paint.
2) get a mobile company out to clean it (but then they would want to put their crap on the paintwork...) :(
3) drive around in a tip for the next few months, rubbing in the dirt every time i open the door or close the boot :x

And before i get slated i live in a third floor flat with on street parking...i would take a bucket/hose to it if i could

1. Don't EVER do this
2. If they are a quality outfit then their products should be good, or they may use yours...
3. The salt that will be being put on the roads needs washed off at the very least

What about a hand car wash place, generally staffed by Europeans ? You might have to travel a bit as I am sure there aren't (m)any in Kensington, but for a quick wash every week through the winter, with some love when you get home, it may work ?

I live quite near you it seems and am in the same quandry - I take it you are talking about BP at Hammersmith Flyover?

Had used Eaton Square Garage back in the day but now super expensive (£15 for outside alone!) and really really poor on last few visits with other car - no more water changes between cars, slapdash guys and swirls...hundreds of them ... :x !!

Let me know if you do go down mobile valet route (without the weird 'deodorant' they love to use...) - could go for a mulit Z discount?

Guys, let me let u in a little secret. Theres a place called over the rainbow in Park Royal, Wembley. It's £10, he uses the two bucket method and does a spot of detailing too. I trust this guy with my car. His name is Afi.
Best of all it's next to the ace cafe so u can always nip in there for breakfast if its busy. It's normal for them to take 40 mins to clean ur car. But it's so worth it.
I'd recommend anyone around the area to give them a try!

Now THAT is the kind of advice this Forum is fantastic for

Wish I lived in London still now

I really wish I knew what this 'two bucket method' is though. Does it involve rubber gloves :? :D

Yes, that BP...but as you will know the flyover is closed and the area is best avoided. I would happily pay for a couple of cheap washes, use the first to soak and blast dirt followed by a good clean with my wash, then a final jet wash and chamois dry!

Part of my problem is that few of my mates keep cars in town and those that do treat them like s*it so no help there! I will look around online and see if I can find anything. As others have suggested I would be happy for them to use my products and definately NO 'Eau de Minicab',

Will be in touch

Might be worth thing over the weekend whilst looking for a mobile company...probably only 15-20 mins in the car, plus breakfast in the Ace (those voices are back telling me to buy another bike, make them stop :dizzy:

Does he kow you mate? Worth a mention who sent me?

Yeah he knows me but not that well. if he asks just say Kish with the black z4m coupe. I used to be on the Evotechnik forum years ago and that's where I know him from. He really is a top lad.
The bikes are awesome but the breakfasts there are pure legendary! I don't think it'll take you long to get down there If u go early. Let me know how u get on!

Will do, would I get him early doors on Sunday- 8am?

Alternative suggestion - Call up a friend with a drive, a pressure washer and some soap, go over to his and go nuts!

When a new person on the Scirocco first bought his Scirocco in central london, he drove over to my place on his way out and back to Newcastle to stop wash and go..

blueshoe5000, What's the exact address!! I've been looking for somewhere like this for aaaagggessss....!!!!
