Mobile chicanes everywhere . . . .

Craig had to work on what must have been one of the best days of the year yet - beautiful sunshine and blue skies, shirt sleeve weather - magic!

Mike and I arranged to meet up to explore a new road for our upcoming hoon. Everywhere we headed we met sheep, sometimes mobs of them

We stopped counting after seeing many sheep carcasses on the side of the road (7) - night time accidents?

Being short of petrol (you'd think he'd know by now  ) Mike said he'd wait at the start of the new section and sent me off to see what I thought. . . . .

Well it was a bit difficult for my youngest to get decent photos as we were enjoying the road - but turned out to be another fabulous stretch of twisties

On my return I found Mike talking to a guy and we ended up invited in to see his collection of cars. (For security reasons I'm not going to go into detail but suffice to say we were there for an hour and a half) We got to see some wonderful cars in his collection all of which were regularly used and had 1000s of miles on them driven on the continent and on rallies. What a great enthusiast and he was extremely hospitable, as was his wife and son. This made it a very special day indeed - you never know who you're going to meet on a trip out in the Zed

We continued to make the best of the weather and headed out to my second home for lunch (Hartside café) where my daughter and I ran over to and back from Melmerby, Mike having just had new discs and pads fitted that week - not yet bedded in stayed at the cafe. We had a great run but came across a couple of mobile chicanes:

Time was getting on and it was a shame we couldn't just keep driving but we did take the long route home :D

Like I said - many had been hitting sheep - I was quite surprised to see so many laid out at the side of the roads - mature sheep as well, not lambs, so must have made a mess of the vehicles :o

Ominously, someone had posted a large sign at the side of one of the roads that read 'Murder' :o  Can only think it was referring to the sheep deaths?

:driving:
