Suddenly the forum inserts an ad between each post making it impossible to read a thread anymore. Something happened? Mobile use only

Happening on my laptop as well.

I have an ad blocker on my desktop as well so didn’t see it there but mobile is a real pain.

Off to Google ad blocker for mobile :D

Seems I need one for my desktop, would you please advise which (of the large number available) works OK.
Thanks
Mike

I use Adblock Plus on both the desktop and the iPhone now. Stops tracking and all ads and is free, so perfect.

I also have Adblocker Ultimate on another machine, also works great.

Dont think I have an ad blocker on my phone but looked at the forum on Safari on my iphone, no ads

Perhaps it has been fixed now, I can't tell as I have a blocker now

Yesterday, after each post line, a massive ad would appear you had to scroll through to get to the next post response, unusable.

At least I have also lost those "Temu" ads that I had at the bottom of the phone screen which was always distracting, all nice and clean now.

If everyone has an ad blocker, will Jim be able to make any revenue from advertising?
I don't know how the 'tech' world works but assuming it will affect his revenue.
I often click on the Temu adverts and have a look at shite....my logic is that it will create more revenue for the site, although I have no idea if that is how it works.

Ok, I assure you there is not supposed to be an ad after every post. There is supposed to be an ad after the first post but only for those not logged in (i.e. guest users). I will look into what is happening but sometimes Google has a mind of it's own.

As for what happens if everyone installs an ad-blocker, that's easy... my costs then become more than my revenue and I delete the forum... simple maths, I'm afraid.

In that case I won't install an Ad blocker, but I hope you can get rid of all those poxy adverts all the way through threads!

I really noticed revenue dropping when ad blockers became more prevalent and easier to install.
That’s why I sold up :D

Thought that may be the case.
Do you receive more revenue from an ad if it is 'clicked through'?

Generally that’s the case. You won’t get paid for the ad just appearing. Some ads may pay only if they are clicked through and a purchase is made, but they are few and far between.
A lot of ad companies have processes in place to spot blatant ad clicking to try to get more clicks and thus more money. If foul play is thought to have occurred then your ad publishing account is revoked.

I don't find the adds a problem at all. I do clear all of my cookies regularly. Many sites now allow you to ignore cookies too. If it helps, I have bought several items via adds from this forum site. All get clicking. :D
