hi, my car has recently had new run flats fitted to the front (so i dont want the expense of replacing these) & the rears are nearing replacement time-can i put normal tyres on the rear without ruining the handling?
regards
No issues there. Mind you might get some push back from a fitter re changing them but just tell then you fully understand the fact you have no spare etc and you'll be fine.
I had RFTs on the front and ordinary tyres on the back for 2000 miles until this week. There were a couple of times I thought I might even spin the car on dual carriageways or motorways at 60-70. Strangely I had more confidence at higher speeds.
I can't say for sure whether this was the mix of tyres or not but the difference now is amazing. I really do wish I hadn't left the mix of tyres on. I think it spoilt the car.
