Mission: Wireless Bluetooth

Hi

I tried to install a wireless Bluetooth receiver in my 2003 z4. But when I turn the ignition on it is making some odd strange noise, like something is bothering it. And even if I try to use it "normal", not stealing any electric it make this strange noise, I tried to record it but the iPhone won't catch up the sound.. It's like there is something wrong with the electrical in the car, or the generator, but why doesn't I hear the strange noise if I listen directly thro the 3.5mm jack?

Bluetooth receiver spec:
Bluetooth Standard: Bluetooth V2.0+EDR, support A2DP V1.2
Power supply: 5V USB
Output: 3.5mm Audio interface
Distance: 5-10 meters
Sound output rate: 44.1KHZ and 48KHZ

See picture below:

Someone know why it makes this noise? :(

This guy seem to have the same problem,

"You can still play it whilst charging, but I find there is a lot of interference, this might be my cars dodgy electrics though. " he says

The item you've linked to looks to be a totally different product?

Indeed, but maybe there is same problem with all Bluetooth receivers when charging them at the same time u listen to music?

Hi

This doesn't solve your problem directly, but as you already have a 3.5mm Jack in the car this may be a very good solution. I have gone on about in a few other threads because i think it is great. Below is the copy and paste for you. hope it helps or gives you an option.

I posted this the other day in another topic, but thought it might be helpful to others.

I managed to save myself the £230 BMW wanted to charge me for the supply and fit of the 3.5mm jack Aux cable. Was a little fiddly but was very easy to do and I was amazed at how much room you have to work with behind the centre console. £60 for the Aux cable and £15 for a bluetooth device off Amazon, what a great solution. Highly recommend to anyone who wants Bluetooth audio for £15. Link below worth looking at if you want bluetooth audio from your 3.5mm jack connection.

I have my Aux coming out of the Astray so I charge at same time, Alternatively it battery time is 12 hours. But yes it does require charging.

You chargé the iphone? But not the Bluetooth receiver? This is so strange, if I try my Bluetooth receiver thro the astray lighter I get interference, isn't the z4 compatible with a Bluetooth receiver?

Is your USB charger dropping the voltage to 5v and not delivering 12v to the bluetooth device?

I use a HTC bluetooth Stereo clip and its brilliant. Must admit I always have it fully charged before I use it. Never tried listening to tunes and charge at the same time, will give it a go and see what happens

I don't get any interference at all crystal clear. If phone needs charging plug it in unit will play for 12 hours

It seems to me that you have a ground loop issue.

I had the same issue when my phone was connected to a charger and the aux in.

I can only imagine it would be a similar issue.

What I think may work would be this: (it's a ground loop isolator with the correct terminals there, as most in car audio applications are RCA)

You won't be able to order from celsus ice direct as they're a distributor to other companies only, so what I'd suggest is speaking to your local car audio shop to see what similar offering they have.

Yea i think the same, but i threw the bluetooth and went just with the 3.5 mm aux! But thanks anyway for your info :)

What was your Bluetooth receiver doing? Was it connected to the stereo via aux? I've not seen a USB Bluetooth aux receiver...
