Not met him but I’ll take your word for it 😁

On a more serious note, I don’t know why Craig and Peter have had such a disagreement, I’ve met both and enjoyed their company, but I do feel it’s a little harsh to exclude Craig from any meets organised by Peter, surely both parties can be big enough to tolerate each other, even if not speaking, if a meet is promoted on this forum then it should be open to any forum member to attend. Life is really too short

Jesus dinny do that, next there will be a fight that Peter is me and I am Peter! :fuelfire:

I'd like to clear up a few things.

Firstly, there were multiple queries I had relating to why there were just single letters on the meets page, rather than names. I had to agree, this was confusing to me also. It was late at night and I was knackered so pulled the topics for the time being, as there were several and it looked a bit ridiculous. I think however we move forward we need to have clear names on there.

Secondly, I have no issue with secret Facebook/whatsapp/tinder groups... knock yourself out, I really don't care at all. The only stipulation is not to end up with posts like "announcement on the FB group, go and read it".

I must say, this has quite shocked me to say the least... we have been here since 2007 and depite there being the odd disagreement I have never seen this sorf of bickering about organising meets.

I have no idea what the answer is to all this, but I have put the threads back for now and will have a think. What I do know is I don't have the time/energy/inclination to act as a primary school teacher and make people stand in the naughty corner. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to move forward, please feel free to suggest them.

Hi Chippie,

How and why this situation arose is frankly irrelevant, and to an extent involves personal issues that I think is best not to discussed in an open forum, safe to say it was brewing for a considerable period of time and there were many instances and issues that lead to that point. It wasn't a decision I took lightly..:tumbleweed:

Personally I'm neither mercurial nor do I hold grudges. This matter falls into only 4 recollectable events in my life.

So, I have no desire, need, wish to see Craig not hold his own runs and particpate in any he so chooses. :driving:

To clarify a factual point.

I've never excluded Craig from any runs I've organised.

In contrast Craig has implictly excluded me from the penultimate event he organsied and explicitly from the final event of 2020 he organised. That of course is his perogative.

Going forward, some Forum members have privately stipulated that they won't attend runs that Craig is either organising or participating in. It places the run organiser therefore in an invidous position, which I'm sure you can understand.

On the other hand, obviously, there are many people who enjoy Craig's company and his methods of managing and organising runs, and long may that continue.

So I think its quite good in a perverse way (if unintended to be such a public spat) as now everyone is clear as to why the Craig and Peter party has runs its course. There were many good times and i thank Craig for taking me under his arm to get a newbie going!

So please do not feel, from my perspective that your 'loyalty' is being tested in any form if you attend any or all of Craig's runs..you are welcome to attend any events I arrange withou prejudice in any form..

Firstly, Peter you accused me of things that weren't true, that I had asked to get your threads removed.
I didn't, Fact.

Secondly, you posted these false accusations on An Open Forum, knowing full well what that may ensue, and unfortunately has!

What's more, you had Runs arranged in Private that I was Actively Not given info on.
Therefore I couldn't, if I wanted to,attend those Runs you had in September and October.
Fact,that I can back up.

Also,at No point did I stop you from attending the two meets that I did.
In regard to the September meet I had,you only asked for the Route plan, which I was still tweeking, and as you well know,I have never given out Route info in advance, for various reasons.
You knew the Start point, etc as its exactly the same as the previous 2 or 3 meets that I had starting from Moffat,so you were more than Free to attend.

In ref to the other meet I did,was The National, which you have attended a few times at least, and which all can see on 10 years/11 meets worth of info on here Starts in Crooklands,it was all up on the thread.
So quite clearly, there was nothing stopping you attending that either.

To be quite frank,I am sick of all this, and will post no more on it,as it has caused me no end of upset.

For those who are interested ,I have various one day runs listed under my thread "Scottish meets 2021" which are all listed together. Updated the other day, with a couple more added.
I will put Individual threads up soon.

Hopefully we can all move on from this, and enjoy some runs in each others company.

All the best everyone  :driving:

I’ll just leave that there with you pair and your Fiat 500 :poke: :poke:

Just to clarify, the six old threads have now been replaced by Peter so I have moved the old ones back off the forum again to avoid confusion.

Hi Peter
I’d like to apologise for my comment about Craig being banned from your meets, I don’t know any of the facts and so shouldn’t have made any conclusions, I was just trying to present some kind of “Olive branch”.
I appreciate all the time and effort that goes into organising these meets / events and the enjoyment got from attending, it’s just a shame that there is bad feeling between you both.

Chippie, no problem, almost all people can’t be bothered with / followed the minutiae of this ‘he said’ ‘they said’ spat. :tumbleweed:

You should continue to enjoy your runs with whoever you so choose :driving:
