I don't know a great deal about detailing cars, but with the best intentions I bought an Autoglym kit on special offer about 2 years ago! Think I've only used the bodywork shampoo and glass cleaner so far
Kit contains;
Car glass polish
Bodywork shampoo conditioner
Paint renovator
Intensive tar remover
Bumper care
Super resin polish
Active insect remover
Clean wheels
I've just ordered 'Fast glass' (for my tinted rear windows) and the leather cleaner / protector to treat the seats. In addition to this I've a bunch of cheap shampoos and a turtle wax original hard shell that I've used on previous cars. Unless I have something obvious missing, I think I have enough bottles, just need to learn how to use them properly :?
In terms of applicators I have very little. Recently learnt the evils of sponges, so fished out a noodle microfibre washmit for my cars first wash last weekend. Dabbed it dry with a bath towel, but it was too late to try polishing/waxing. Turtle wax comes with its own applicator and I always used to borrow a duster from the house cleaning products to buff it off!
For washing, would you recommend getting a deep pile mitt, or just a couple of those noodle mitts?
For drying, I've read a large microfibre towel is easiest?
For applying other products (polish, cleaners) should I buy a bunch of smaller microfibre cloths, or are they more for buffing to a finish? I see Autoglym do their own perfect palm applicator, but assuming I need one for each type of product it seems a bit extravagant at £6 a go!
All suggestions welcome, don't want to give my car swirly paint!
