Skelters where were you, when I paid a BMW main dealer to replace those parts, just weeks after buying my Zed. Happily I then joined the forum and now know better.

I've been here pretty much since day 1 of the forum! Did take a break for a few years when I went all Audi and Vauxhall!
Indeed you have sir. It was my bad for not joining as soon as I bought my Zed.

I got fed up with those things messing up the shine on my bonnet so i disconnected them electrically to disable them.
It’s probably got the advantage of reducing the chance of mechanical malais if it never moves :P

Looks like you'll be needing this part:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Volvo-XC90-03-06-Headlamp-Headlight-Washer-Jet-Nozzle-Right-/362540649420

I bought that exact part recently, but I only needed the diamond shaped clip on the top. The actual nozzle is the same as the original one.

I bought the cap from here as they painted it. Saved me the hassle

Is this what you need?
Found this in the boot of mine after buying the car!

What a nuisance! :(

I've been meaning to disconnect mine as I don't have Xenons , and I hate those stripes you get on the front wings after they operate.

I really must get it done while all the bits are still there!

From memory the connector is just inside the bonnet on the l/h side and easy to get to

You do need them working for the MOT if you have xenon headlights

I’m not sure tbh - let’s see what others say, if it is that would be great 😀

When I bought my 2008 e70 x5 many moons ago the BMW salesman gave advice about these. He said that in the winter always put screen wash in that goes to minus 10 deg. It prevents ice forming and them sticking up. He said that losses were a mixture of failures and little tykes pulling them off if they were stuck in the raised position. He mentioned about the cost and the covers being unpainted. 8 years and no issues with the x5. Maybe luck but he said it is more likely to lose them in winter.
