Misshaped tyre!

I had a little run out today for fish and chips in Wetherby, on the way there I could hear a thud thud sound coming from the rear and thought oh no misshaped tyre, couldn’t see anything obvious when I got there, on the way back it was getting louder and I could feel the rear didn’t feel right, when I got home I took the off side wheel off 1st as I’d hit a large pot hole on the way there, but couldn’t see anything obvious, put it back on and checked the near side only to find all 5 wheel bolts loose, so luckily not needing a new tyre and extremely lucky the wheel didn’t come off!

All five coming loose is way more than unlikely Chippie, tye are a taper fit and once nipped up its almost impossible for them to come loose.
Do you keep your car outside? Some jealous arse might have loosened them for you!!

I think it’s unlikely someone will have loosened them, it’s possible I hadn’t nipped them up enough the last time I had taken it off

All's well that ends well Chippy.

Years back, I was working on my Primera, replacing the power steering pump. I'd had the front wheels off earlier and just threw them back on. I jumped in to take it for a test drive. Drove a few gentle miles, all working, so I pushed it a little harder around a round about. Out of the other side I immediately felt the wobble and thought, Sh#t I didn't do the wheels up. Problem was I had left the brace on the drive at home too.

A very slow bimble the few miles home followed.

Many years ago a friend made a similar mistake on a VW bug. He laughed and pointed at the tyre passing him by on a long down hill saying some arse lost his wheel. :P Only to find the car slump to one side upon stopping at the bottom of the hill.

I swear to God it was a friend - not me :D
