Morning all,
I am in the process of buying a 2006 e85 2.0 with one owner and 70,000 miles.
I have not yet bought it as the dealer has been preparing it, in fact I haven't even seen it! The car is up in Gateshead and I am in Manchester so at the moment I just have a refundable deposit on the car. I had a call yesterday and a video on Whatsapp to say that the car was all ready but that there is a slight misfire when idling which clears when driving. On the video it is impossible to hear anything but I did note that it's idling at around 1200rpm which seems high. Is there a common e85 fault which might cause a misfire at idle only? I don't want to waste time and money driving up to Gateshead to look at a car with a fault unless it's an easy fix, my alternative is to pay for a pre-purchase inspection from a local mechanic.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
Thanks, Jonners
