hi folks, right can i ask a few questions about my UK spec 2003 3.0 z4 roadster. i notice the heated mirror on the drivers side isnt heating up, it tillts and moves but no heating up.. is there a fuse for this ? or does it sound more like a heating element failure...?

my wiper blade on the drivers side is annoying me it vibrating / dragging a bit across the screen when in use, makes a horrid rubbing noise any tips for a cure..

would driving at night with the wind deflector in place affect the dimming function for the drivers mirror / door mirrors ?

my next point is my alarm, is the bonnet switch a known dodgy componet to go wrong ? my alarm goes off now and then

final point my reverse sensors have stopped working i engage reverse and i get a constant tone - but no count down beeps to the object behind, can i suspect a faulty sensor on the bumper

Thanks in advance
Ken

The park sensors will be one or more faulty sensor and/or corroded connections
Do a search on here an there's a guide to how to work out which are faulty, then plug one of your good ones in the previous faulty locations an an if OK it's only the sensor to replace

Sounds like you need new wiper blades.

Does the passenger mirror heat up?

Have you definitely got exterior auto dimming mirrors?

Wind deflector shouldn't stop rear view mirror from dimming.

If your window wiper is not in need of a change, try fixing a spoiler to it. It will stop the vibrating/dragging effect especially in very windy weather.
Unplug the alarm under the bonnet like I had to. Very common issue apparently.
And driving at night with wind deflector up can't possibly affect your rear view dimming or door mirrors.

thanks lads i put my ear to my rear parking sensors ign on and car in reverse gear and all but one emit a clicking sound so i will take out the offending part and firstly give it a clean then replace if still faulty. as for the mirrors the passenger one does heat up only the drivers is not, i will as suggested unplug the under bonnet alarm sensor switch, until i get a new one.. thanks for the replies.
