Just bought myself the above dash cam - Currys had £30 off so down to £69
Reviews seemed pretty good.

Quickly got it in position before it went dark bit not had chance to try it out - could have sworn I had a spare Micro SD card, but no! :headbang:
It fits neatly behind rear view mirror but then you can't see it and difficult to press buttons - Could be Ok here once I have all the settings sorted as it seems fully auto after that
Will experiment where it fits best before tidying up the power cable

Anyone else got any experience of this make/model?

Hi Ronk
Haven't finalised it yet - spent most of yesterday afternoon sourcing the correct memory card (not compatible with Ultra/Extreme cards and class 10 is recommended)

However:
I run the cable supplied (not the smart box hard wire kit) to the aux power under the centre arm rest
From the camera it runs behind the plastic trim along the top of the windscreen.
98% of the way this is a very easy push fit - Seems very tight at the corner with the A pillar and for the first 2" down it
That's today's job
After running down the A pillar there is a groove in the fascia trim. I used this to back track to the door hinge rubber trim.
Pushed behind the trim before running along the underside of the glove box to the centre of the car
From here it was easy to push the cable under the plastic transmission tunnel trim
I exited the trim by the side of the passenger seat

Although not finished it looks like it will be really neat -I hate loose wires showing
If the trim is too tight at the corner of the windscreen or seeing the cable in the fascia trim groove bugs me, it looks like I could run it straight from the top LH corner of the windscreen , around the A pillar and down inside the door seal.
Might try both to see which is least obtrusive
I'll try and get some pictures up later today

Any news on the recording quality yet ?
I'm in the market for one at the moment so will be keen to hear your thoughts

I tried it briefly in the dark last night and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Be off out shortly so will see what daylight quality is like
Have a look on Youtube - there are a few example on there

From Mio website you download the video viewer
As well as letting you watch the footage it gives Lat/Long, height above sea level and speed
There is also a G sensor map!!
You also have the option to capture still photos
In viewing mode there is a separate window that show progress on google maps

There are some nice options on it as well
You can turn the LCD screen off and there are multiple options re warning sounds/volumes
Download monthly (free) speed camera sites
Lane departure warning
Headlight on warning
Overspeed warning
Parking mode - requires permanent live feed

For the money I have to say I'm really pleased with it

Had time today to fit properly
View from outside - I think a black rubber sucker would be be more discrete

Washed, polished, hoovered - Need a beer now

There is a perfectly good switched live in the fusebox.....not sure why you have gone down the transmission tunnel??

Hi - at the moment it's powered by the aux socket under the arm rest - didn't fancy cutting the connector off at one day old :D, and I just wanted to get it up and running for the moment
The smart box to hard wire was another £30. This monitors the battery output and turns the camera off (when in parking mode) if the voltage drops too low. If i go down this route I'll certainly do has you say - thanks
