Just a heads up to anyone in the bedfordshire area about www.mintalloys.co.uk.

I have just had all 4 of mine refurbed by them and am delighted with the results.I had one with curbing damage and some wear and tear on the them too and they have come up as good as new.

Superb service and after them being recommended to me I'm happy to recommend them myself.

I also bought some new silver locking bolts, new center caps, m stickers and dust caps to complete the job

Looking great!
Any "before" pics?

Thanks, I'm well pleased with the results.

I mean't to take some pics but didn't get round to it in the end before they refurbed them but after 29k miles they were looking in need of a refurb and one had all round curbing damage.

The new bolts really set them off!

That is true! A small detail, but now I see it matters. I've just looked at my rusty ones. :slaphead:

So spartacus, now it's time for a hoon - the brake rotors need to shake off some rust ;)

New bolts really do make all the difference!

I liked my standard bolds which look black on my winters 108's with black centres... But on my summer wheels i really need silver bolts like yours!

Where did you get your wheel centres from, and can you tell me if they are sticker or in three parts etc cos i want some new ones and having created a thread about it its caused me loads of confusion.

They are one piece plastic oem parts and I bought them from a bmw dealership. The place that did my wheels removed the old ones and fitted the new ones.

It looks like they just clip in place, easier to fit than remove I would say.

Part number is b36.13.6.783.536 hub cap and they cost £8.21 + vat each.

That's a decent price for a refurb..... good job too

Are they painted or powder coated?

They used powder coat primers, water based paint and acrylic laquers so does that make them powder coated? Not sure to be honest myself.

Hi Spartacus
Most disks get a powder coating of rust if left for a short while but as soon as you use brakes it clears it off.

Hi Alan, I hope you are well.

I had been away for a week and the car hadn't been used so maybe that was why but all ok now.

So, when are you going to get rid of the qashqai and get a proper car again ? :poke:
