£14k that my daughter paid for her current model black Cooper S with all the JCW trimmings seems a much better deal to me.

£33k - watch that depreciate

You would have to be a bit of a spanner really wouldn't you.

Hey ho, if BMW can make money selling it for that good on them :D

Dave

i also saw this, couldnt believe 33k for a mini ! just think of all the other cars you could have for that, in fact a Z4M would be my choice with approx 10k still spare.

And they will.

I guess it's quite easy to spec a MINI to £33k by hitting the options list hard though. A mate has an 06-plate Cooper S with the Works package and a few options. He bought it second hand about 6 months ago for £12k, but the invoice showing the original price paid by the first owner was (funnily enough) £33k...

It's still only a fecking MINI at the end of the day.

I mean, you would have to be pretty much rich and stupid :headbang:

Not the first time MINI has done something like this!

In the first gen MINI they brought out at a JCW MINI GP. Basically it was a sort of CSL of MINI's. Stripped out interior (no rear seats) basic CD/radio, less sound deadening inside, normal non-xenon headlights, around 10BHP more than the normal JCW, lowered suspension and unique colour scheme, wheels and body kit and individually numbered (small transfer on the roof), but it was the most expensive MINI you could buy at the time! You could spec a nice normal JCW MINI for less money with way more kit! They still sold though and are still fetching good money second hand!

Yeah but the GP wasn't £33k, IIRC the GP was £25k? That's a big difference (plus I'd actually like a GP )

That was then though! Don't forget on the new one you are still getting all of the top of the range kit with it.
Not defending it mind, as that is silly money for a MINI. Only around £1,800 less than I paid for my 35i! :o

I actually liked the GP also. Almost bought one second hand once! Still might!

Likewise, if I was returning to a hot hatch I'd certainly at least test drive a GP...

I'd ditch the red mirrors for carbon covers though! :P

Still have the use of a MINI as the missus has a rather nice new MINI S! Great car (and I didn't like the facelift one to start with). Took it for a blast yesterday and MINI's still make me wonder why I bought a Z4 sometimes!! :P
Classier ride I think, or maybe it's subliminal that I should be growing up a bit these days!

I agree with you Breaker - my daughter has a nice S as mentioned above. The performance from a 1.6 is astounding when coupled with a chassis that most of the time seems to lay the power down, handles the RFT's well and can be slung around with no thought. Easily quicker A-B than a Zed, unless you're really focussed and a bit brave.

No growing up for me though :)

Some nice (but expensive) kit some of the JCW stuff. We have the JCW body kit, rev lights, sill plates and the carbon rear spoiler on the missus car. It was an ex dealer spec showroom car. It has the Black wheels also (pepper white car).
