Mini Countryman All4 Cooper S - Now collected with pics

Congratulations OG, think I need to see it from a few different angles, hope you are pleased with it though

It's the black wheel arches and wheels that are messing with my eyes :dizzy:

Yes it probably looks great in the flesh, but in the photo it looks like you have really humongous wheel arch gaps :D

Picked it up today. So far really pleased with it. I know they are a bit marmite but I reckon it looks good.

I like it OG- got pretty close to going for one of these before plumbing for the Abarth - will be interested to hear your running report

Paceman and Coupe's have been huge flops and are now discontinued.

Woman I'm seeing has a Countryman SD with every toy and it's not all that. Get a second hand Evoque or new, the new Merc GLA

Thanks guys. First proper drive in it this morning. I think it's going to do everything I need it to.

Paceman and Coupe were always going to be a challenge because they are so niche but the Countryman accounts for 33% of Mini volumes so has become a key model. Great residuals as well.

Hello

Any update on the county man ? what are your thoughts now that you have had it for a while ??

regards

JB,

So far I'm delighted with it. I've done about 135 miles, but my longest trip has probably been 20 miles. I'll find out a bit more tomorrow because I've got a 225-mile round trip to make. Initial impressions are that it is pretty comfortable, performs well when you want it to, without feeling like it wants you to rev it all the time, which makes it a relaxing car to drive. It has sure footed mini-style handling, solidly built and well equipped. There is loads of room for 4/5 adults to sit comfortably too.

The car comes with run flats which aren't the big negative they are on the Zed. It's generally a smooth ride and most minor bumps/potholes are dealt with well, but I still think they add a degree of "crashiness" to the ride when you drive over larger potholes or bad surfaces that is unnecessary.

The Cooper S performs well - 0-62 is just under 8 seconds and so far I reckon I've averaged about 35mpg. That's not bad for me and if I average that over the long run I'll be more than happy. I'll be interested to see what I get tomorrow when it's mostly motorway and A-road miles.

There's a reason they've sold so well - they tick lots of boxes for people which is precisely why I wanted one. It's the ideal "other" car for me right now.

We went into the dealer to look at a mini for Mrs K and the lazy git of a car sales woman couldn't be arsed to move from her desk !
Ok it was 15.30 on a Sunday !

We bought a 335xd - at another dealership instead - that's her bonus up the spout!

Infuriating isn't it? My guy at Sytner was great. Easy to deal with, very responsive also very determined to find a car that matched my spec and budget too. He was a breath of fresh air to be honest.

That's why we eventually bought the 335 -sales went out of their way to help spec the car to exactly what we wanted.

We looked at one of these but the boot space was too small for all the baby gear.

Shame really as they look and feel great.

Longer trip was good. Averaged about 37mpg and the car was quiet and very comfortable. I know some people might be disappointed with 37 but that's fine for me. I'd trade the extra mpg for extra performance.

The boot is quite small. Mine has three rear seats that that all fold down and you can move the rear seats forward as well to create a bit more space but it's not the biggest boot. The boot space has been traded off a bit against rear legroom for adults because there's loads of legroom in the rear. If you get one with the flat boot floor option ticked then it also provides more storage space beneath the boot floor for stuff you might not need frequently.

I've just reached the 10,000 mile milestone under my ownership in the Countryman Cooper S All4. I've had it 10 months and it now has 25k on the clock.

It's a cracking little car. Well made, comfortable, practical, handles well, performs well. Acceleration is pretty brisk (0-100 is about 20s) but a Manic Motorsports remap may be on the agenda, which will increase power to Cooper S Works levels (circa 225hp). The only thing it's needed so far is new front and rear brake pads. It's not due for a service until the Autumn but it has TLC for the next 3 years anyway. MPG isn't wonderful - I'm averaging 32, but to be honest I don't really care that much which is why I bought a Cooper S one in the first place.

It's been just what I needed, a real jack-of-all-trades type of car.
