I have been looking at MILVS ( no not MILF ) and then Wursle mentioned them on Liam`s Post here https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=112593&start=495#:~:text=Epic%20work%20as,www.bimmermilvs.com/

Has anyone fitted these or considered them and did you use the remote tune .

There is a long post about them here https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1329840

Thanks in advance .

I havent fitted them just yet but they are definitely on the list of items! When i do this i am planning on doing them in 1 fal swoop, so intake, milvs and maybe headers just so its a one and done sort of job. They can make some incredible figures and having already poured too much into my Si an M car is just out of the question 😂

I’m thinking exactly the same. The graphs on the E90 thread show a reasonable performance gain (+5hp and +7nm across the board) between MILVs with and without tune. It’s a shame they don’t have a pre-mod line for comparison

I am thinking about doing the headers the same way as Liam using the original headers and then probably a 200 cell cat but need to find someone to fabricate it . I would then fit the MILVS . I am just wondering if it would be worth ordering the MILVS in advance as a group buy if enough of us wanted them and that would save a bit on the shipping ? I know money is tight for many people at the moment including myself but would like to have the MILVS ready to be fitted when the time comes .

Liams headers have certainly been an eye opener! Im not concerned about cats as mines basically a dedicated track car 😅 a group buy would be a great shout though, need those gains

I have messaged Marty at BimmerMILVS to see if there would be any discount for a group buy and how many orders he would need . I will update here when I get a reply .

I have received a reply . They cost $350 plus $20 postage ( in USD ). If we order 3 sets Marty will give us 10 % discount on the total cost but that would be if they were all sent to one address in the UK . We can send back our used sets for a $40 refund each but may not be worth it considering postage costs ?. I can start a group buy post to see if anyone else is interested first or just let me know if you are a definite and when you would be able to pay and we can work out the best way to make payment and timescale. Let me know your thoughts and ideas on best way to make payment .

This could definitely work and we could always redistribute once received at the UK Home Address. As for the payment we could always spread the cost + shipping between the total number of orders and have this sent to Marty direct via paypal with a note saying the group buy and the users name :) for 3 people the total cost is looking between 270-280 per set which considering the gains is awesome. if we are able to get more than 3 marty might do more of a discount

Don`t forget the import tax on top of that though . I have input the full price for 3 = $1050 plus full shipping = $60 into a import calculator and it comes out as this based on the current exchange rates .

Importing a product classified with HS Code 8708.99.9790 to GB from US with a value of 1050 USD results in the following:

Duty & Tax Charges
Duty: 29.78 GBP (Rate of 3.5 %)

VAT: 176.13 GBP (Rate of 20 %)

Total: 205.91 GBP

Your Total Landed Cost Calculation
Value of Goods: 1050 USD

Duty: 29.78 GBP

VAT: 176.13 GBP

Shipping: 60 USD

Insurance: 0 USD

Total: 1056.79 GBP

This was calculated using an exchange rate: USD:GBP 0.766555

So it would work out at £352. 26 before the 10% refund from Marty after purchase so about £317 in total plus postage from the receiving UK address .

I hope I have got that right .

Has there been a comparison between stock N52 and stock N52+MILVs without tune? Otherwise it is hard to tell whether the addition horses 🐎 are just coming from the tune

Just had to refer back to the E90 post and at the moment all I can find is this on page 32 and 33 https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1329840&page=32

Unlikely to be any benefit of MILVS without a tune.

Interesting read. Just skimmed it but I think the conclusion is an engine specifically tuned for MILVs gave +9whp more than an engine with a “generic” performance tune. Only measured on one engine and don’t know how many runs they did and whether this is an averaged number.

Interesting read.

Unfortunately I cant tell you anymore than what is in the e90 post but I made the decision after reading through everything that it was something I would like to try . Why not send a message to Marty at BimmerMILVs asking everything you would like to know as he has all the info . He came back to the message I sent him very quickly but bear in mind the time difference . I don`t want to message him myself for you as I don`t want to be seen as trying to sell his product and you will get the answer from the horses mouth as they say
