Millers oil

I'm intending getting the Millers oil analysis done one my Z4MC, whilst looking on their website I checked out what the recommended engine oil was.....CFS 10W60. Does anyone use or have used this oil in their M ?? I have used Millers in both of my previous cars, an Elise and Cosworth engined TVR without issue.

Mr Wilks is a big advocate of Millers and he has used it in his previous M roadster.

I have just stayed with Castrol now Titanium 10W60 while BMW have switched allegiance to Shell.

Just had an inspection 2 done at BMW and supplied my own oil to make sure this was kept up.

Millers is a good quality oil so there will be no issue.
 
I still have a few ltrs of titaniam from my last oil change. As said BMW have moved over to Shell. Can't see any reason why Millers 10W60 would not be perfectly fine oil for an ///M :thumbsup:
 
Get it in the car Das , just my own thoughts but the S54 has a penchant for trouble connected with heat / cold starts & for me there is no better fluid than Millers to cope with both those factors
My current ZM will be in shortly for INS2 & its Millers all the way for me 8) engine , box & diff :thumbsup:
 
I've been using Millers CFS NT since my last inspection 2 a year ago and it's noticeably smoother on a cold start.

The newer Ester based oils are a few steps above the older synthetics, Ester based oils have a better HTHS viscosity for the same KV100 (kinematic viscosity at 100ºC). It's good for cold start and high temperature track work. I've been looking to do a high power build one of my other cars and Ester based oils have come out on top with quite a few tuners.
 
Not just good for S54s the Millers range also has suitable oils for N52 N54
Also worth mentioning on this thread specifically for the ///M owners who have one (or both :P ) eye on cam wear or bearing shell wear & missed the link for oil analysis on previous thread http://www.millersoils.co.uk/automotive/millercare.asp
 
In case any other Miller fans are wondering about the new Black 10W 60 containers..... I contacted Chris at Opie oils who said "it is the same oil with some extra Nanodrive additive making it better than before and ideal for your Z4M"
Opie oils price is £45.95 which is the best price I have seen so far.

Has anyone tried this suggestion from Opie oils when asking about gearbox oil for my Z4MC??
" In that case the Millers TRX 75w-80 is the best option for the gearbox, although if it is stiff when cold (as is common with BMWs of that age), use a 50/50 mix of the TRX and ATF DM."
There's nothing unusual about using ATF in a manual box as my Cossie T5 box used it , but I've never heard of mixing 2 different oils??

I have Millers Race oil in my TT RS. not got as far as having to service the Z4M yet. Dont think they use the same stuff though :(

Bit of topic but how does your ttrs compare to the z4m?
 
Z4M is stock, TT RS has a remap, decats, MPSS H&R springs (Mag Ride). 414bhp and 429ft/lbs and Haldex 4wd it grips and goes makes a awesome noise. I run winter tyres for the colder months. Its a very quick and easy to drive daily.

The Z4M roadster is a more "fun" car to drive on a nice day, much rather be in the TT on a cold wet day. Can't wait for some decent sunshine so I can take my wooly hat off :P
