Milestone!

B for BMW in Clydebank has had some decent reviews, I was thinking of them for my next service.

I have been using them for the last few years for servicing and they seem very good to deal with.
Luckily I havnt had any major problems for them to deal with.
Seems like a very organised place and they also seem happy to talk to you while waiting, even the owner takes time to chat.
Downside is they are not open at the weekend at all but are opened late one night during the week.

Thanks Stuart. I know how you look after your vehicles so this is another plus for B for BMW.

Thanks Alfa as you say, we'll get a run out soon enough. Mine is still on summer tyres but I've got the luxury of the 4x4 for winter duties.

Thanks for the update Stuart, I'll definitely give them a try when my service comes due in the new year.

B for BMW are fine but personally I’d go to another specialist nearby, B&M in Yoker, Glasgow. They really know their stuff and the prices are better than the former who are sitting about dealer price levels IMO. Run by Douglas, ex BMW master tech, and Vincent.

Congratulations on that milestone - impressive. Even more impressive is the condition of your Coupe Gary - from seeing it I would have no idea it was anywhere near that mileage - magic
Hope you find a good specialist - I'm lucky having a guy I trust (and very reasonable) down here. Just rolled mine over to 60K at the end of this year . . .

What have you had done there?

Again I will give them a call and see what they say. Their site says he has an e46 m3 himself and his site advertises changing the bearing shells although not on the older s54 engine.

I have sent a quote request to B for BMW and will do the same for B&M.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Gary,well done on reaching 100k.
As for both B for BMW and B&M,I know people who use both for general servicing, etc, but not for anything such as Vanos work, bearings etc.
So can't comment re that.
But, Drop Rich a msg,as he had his Vanos done somewhere, and was very happy(although not an m,still similar work).

Mr Vanos gets a good name, but I am sure Richie went elsewhere

Thanks Paul. Having someone you trust is worth its weight in gold.

Haven't seen you in ages so I hope you and Steph are well and we can have a run some time next year :driving:

Will ask Rich and get his thoughts. Very much still in research mode before I take the plunge and choose someone.

I started using them just under a couple of years ago when I was looking to get the Mtrack mode activated. They got an outside coder into do it and at a reasonable price. Since I’ve used them to replace all my brake lines, renew brakes and pads and a couple of other minor jobs. Because my M is still under extended warranty I still use BMW for servicing but I’ve started using them for my X5 servicing and any work required. I’ve found them to be genuine and knowledgeable people who show a real interest in your car.

Yes, not been as often to Scotland this year after our blitz in 2016, so no meet up - if we get up there again I'll certainly get in touch
