Out of interest have any of the 100k mileage owners ever had the need to do any major bits and pieces to the engine? I was wondering if getting near to 70k was about the right time to give the vanos a rebuild (not by me!). Not because it's causing any issues, but mainly as a preventative measure for the future.
Mine was replaced at 23k, but I've not done anything to the new engine other than scheduled maintenance and my interim oil services.MikeMcG said:Out of interest have any of the 100k mileage owners ever had the need to do any major bits and pieces to the engine? It's my only car, but not quite a daily driver. I get to work by train and live pretty much opposite the station, so the car only really moves at weekends. I even found myself walking a mile to the Supermarket last week to grab a few bits as I didn't think it was worth firing the car up and doing such a small journey where the engine wouldn't get chance to warm up. So with my rose tinted specs on, the car is good for your health too 8)
