Mileage error on MOT

gov

My car was first registered in 2004 - I bought it from the original owner in 2013 - the first MOT was in 2007 and the recorded mileage was 20200 k - the following year,s MOT has a recorded mileage of 80000k and the sequential MOT,s are all correctly recorded in the 20k,s up to the current MOT of 29 k - I can only assume the tester entered someone else,s car mileage - the emissions test certificate attached to this MOT has the correct mileage of 21k recorded as does all the BMW service record so there is enough conclusive evidence that it was incorrectly recorded at the time but is still annoying - is there a way I could get DVLA to amend the MOT ?

I have no idea gov, your asking the relevant dept to go back 8 yrs to correct their mistake.
I wish you luck and look forward to hearing the outcome.

Are you sorting this for your own peace of mind or are you selling again ?
Anybody can see it's a genuine car and low mileage

No not selling just wondered if it could be corrected but as you say unlikely as it happened so long ago - at least I do have the emissions doc quoting the right mileage :D

I had this when I bought my Zed, the mileages on the MOT history site differed by about 10k for 2 MOT's BUT the owner had the originals along with the invoices from BMW showing the same mileage as the certificates. Prob slapdash data entry when the computerised MOT system came out.

I wasn't unduly worried..

Naughty moters
But if look at dash off z you will see a tamper spot of any attempt has been made to change mileage and can't be removed that I now of
