Midlands meet #2 Sunday 28th April 2013

A couple of people have asked about the new 2013 version 2 Sat Nav disks I have copies of.

You need to have (assume only on E89?) S606A Navigation System Professional. This is the iDrive/CIC Hard Disk based system, not the CCC DVD version. I will bring the files on a USB HDD so you will need a laptop or 25Gb of USB space or similar if you want a copy, as the original disks (x3) were dual layer DVDs and I don't have the ability make copies easily. The update process is far quicker via USB keys too.

Dr_John, are you going via the M69? If so, we could meet up on the way?
 
Thanks for clarifying the nav updated map situation. Anyone got a map dvd for a z4c more upto date then my 07 disc i could have a copy from? i will buy lunch :)

I have no idea what i have in mine can someone take a look for me. I know the disc is an old one.

Can you get speed camera alerts on the sat nav and i heard people talking about a 3d perspective???
 
If you lot get your nav's working one of you can lead, I'm at the back not taking any risks with my new arse end :P

3D perspective comes by installing the later generation OS. Readily available free fom X5forum and similar.

Cameras are done by adding a database of them as POI's. Thereafter they are selectable just as any other POI such as petrol stations. Downside is they are only as up to dat as the databse yuo have.

si-forks i would love a copy of your most up-to date maps. I however only have a macbook and it does not have a dvd drive!!! :headbang: will this be a problem? i will buy you food and drinks :roll: .

Also MM i am doing a reccy of our route on sunday coming back from birmingham tonight M40 upto j14 then B4100 to banbury then a4260...i will report back. only problem is it will be at rush hour.... :x

I most probably will come along to knowles but have to leave early so won't be going on cruise.
