Midlands Breakfast Club (UK) April 26th

Back in - wow - what a great day.

Faces to web names, most Zeds I've ever seen in a line and amazing weather.
Thanks to Ben for the suggestion and pulling the meet together and Andrew for the drive route and lunch. Made my way back up via Ironbridge with Ben and enjoyed some more scenic lanes.

Will post some photos later.

Karn is busy on PhotoShop getting some pictures together (I will post them later) and I'm on AutoTrader looking for a Red "M"

Thanks to Ben for sorting out such a great venue, great weather and a really nice group of people and their Zeds. Thanks to Andrew for the drive. I really hope we can do something similar again, Wales in August sounds good if not before?? :thumbsup:

Really great to see such a huge turnout and the posts on the forum will seem more personal now that I've seen some of you in the flesh.

Sorry I couldn't make it - looks like I would have been the only M-coupeé too :thumbsdown:

However, I only got up at 1:30pm after coming in from some stay-behind at a pub in Liverpool city centre.
Don't think I'd have been safe to drive at that time anyway, so have had a quiet afternoon, watched the replay of the poorly-attended F1 show at Bahrain and started on a bottle of wine (for the antioxidants of course) to counteract the lager, ale, spirits and cocktails from last night.

The best man seems to have disappeard between us leaving a rum bar and entering the dodgy-looking pub where we had the stay-behind. We only stayed so late as we thought he'd catch up to us, but he's not answering his texts/calls so has probably been superglued to something, somewhere :rofl:
 
What a great day - there are two thread running now and not sure where to put photos.
Not got a Z4 (yet) but loved the day, there were some stunning cars on show. Great to meet people today. Came down with Paddy end as people who were there know us northerners did not do the drive to lunch with a lot of the others but Ed found a great route back. So frustrated i did not have my car with me as Paddy, Lucy and Ed certainly enjoyed the drive.

So which way did you Sheffield boys (and girl) go? Was it just West of Lichfield then via Ashbourne, or did you cut the corner off??
 
best ask ed he knew where we were but ashbourne was in it! Ian there are many coups out there, choose ur price and spec and away u go!
 
Would like to tell you which way they went but the town signs were a bit blurry! Lovely drive though, but i dont think the 6 Mr2's were impressed when we pulled up in the same car park. Some very jealous looks! Never mind.

Crackin' drive around the edge of Telford then dropped down South through some great countryside. Stoppped for a photo opportunity up on the tops then a great carvery for lunch.

Afterwards a drift back up to Bridgenorth, Ironbridge and homeward.

Those who say there is nowhere to drive int he UK just need to get out. We covered miles of great country roads with very little traffic in the way.

I will get a few shots up on the other thread

I'll echo that! Really enjoyed the drive, the choice of route was excellent! A mixture of twisties, long straights, steep inclines, descends... just great :driving:
And the view at Clee Hills was stunning! :)
 
A brilliant day, thanks to all who organised it, Ben and Andy really!!, nice to meet up with those I met on the last run, and the new forum members too.An amazing turnout of Z4's put all the other groups to shame, great weather, a top drive out complemented with the best carvery I've had for a long time. Myself and Mrs bigshurv had a very pleasant bimble home along some of my favourite local roads, then watched the MotoGP followed by Jenson Button's win in the F1.I hope we can get the same crowd together again sometime soon.

Looks like a nice route you took back there Ed, did you take any pics? And did you manage to keep Lucy under a tight reign? :P
 
I like that route. Once you get away from the industrial corner of NW West Midlands and past Cannock it's very nice :)
Trouble is you can't cross the Peak on a sunday in spring without being behind a caravan or some doddering old folks in an Allegro with wicker picnic basket and thermos flask looking for a picnic spot

Yeah she kept nice and close, i unlatched the boot at one point as im sure she was trying to get in :rofl: Beeping and shouting at all the poor tourists too (and they probably thought it was me as i was at point!) - you can take the girl outta the city, but cant take the city outta the girl haha

we just saw them as targets to pass- especially Lucy!! And as for the golf that chased us 4 a few miles!! Who knows what it had but it sounded V8ish!
