Hi is there a meeting place before going to the event :driving:

I was just looking at the map and can't really see anywhere obvious.
I could do a service station on the M6 or M6 Toll...?

Anybody got any ideas

Hi Ben,
There is a truck stop on the A460 Cannock rd between the M6 Juc 11 and M54 Juc 1( http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=52.653647,-2.077205&spn=0.002363,0.004807&t=h&z=18) hope the link works?
At that time of morning we could possibly meet there? or i think there is a service area further along the Cannock road under Juc 1 of the M54 i did google it but am not 100%. :| Both points are then just a quick hop onto the M54 down to juc 3?

What does everyone else think?
Am also up for a spot of lunch if theres any interest :)

MD

I think we have to be on site by for 8.30 and 9.00 absolute latest, to be allowed to our designated club stand, else will be put in the overflow car park. Realistically such a meeting up would have to be at 8.00 with a view driving off at say 8.15. My caution is that people always arrive late, then want to refuel, etc so it has to be done on a strict timetable.

I'm open to meeting at that service station (only live 15 mins up the road so no issue) if people want, but personally at that time of morning I'd prefer to drive directly there, park up, ogle Z4's, then have a drive afterwards once the show breaks up mid morning then stop for lunch.

I agree with cj. I'd love to meet up with some of you guys on the way there but realistically the timing works better for a drive post event. Do you have any ideas for a route and or lunch cj? (as it's in your neck of the woods!)

I'm really looking forward to this now it's getting closer.....

Looking forward to this and would be up for a drive/photo shoot afterwards. Early start from Liverpool to be there for 8.30. Just hope the Gods of Weather are kind to us.

Just a few more to confirm, that is a good list! I was expecting two or three when I first asked.
I agree that it is probably best to meet at the event. The first 10 names on the list head for the main show area and everybody else go for the overflow carpark.
We can get all the cars together near the end of the meet for a few pictures.
Has anybody got any ideas for a drive after..? I don't really know the area apart from it being almost on the way to the EVO Triangle :?

Cheers

evo triangle is still a bit of a drive away, its about 55 miles from me. i went and drove it on saturday, good drive, even though i programmed my sat nav wrong and did some single tracking, but even that was good, plenty on good views to take in. id say the triangle would be a good drive to do, but maybe not with over 20 cars!!

Yer, I was only joking about that one. My girlfriend would kill me if I got her up early and then draged her to Wales.

I really don't know that area well for a drive around as I just pass straight by on the motorway headed for Wales  Ironbridge and it's gorge and bridge various places we could park up are just down the road.

Hot off the Press: :rtfm:

We all need to get there between 08:30 and 08:45
We will then go for the Main Grass Area where we can get all the Z4's in.
We will be in good company as there will be 40 Audis and 20 Porsches too in that area.

I hope this meets with everybodys approval, should be a good day and I hope we can have a bit of top-less action

:worshipbmw:

Really looking forward to this now, I hope the weather is kind.
I'll be coming from Hindley, so I'll not have to get up at stupid o'clock to get there from Darlo :)

Jeeper- you'll have to go out on a recon drive  find us some good roads, and don't come back until you've used atleast one full tank of fuel :fuelfire:

Which club are the audis from? Is there any from the tt forum? Will my mates TT be allowed in with us?

No idea to be honest, I'm sure it will be ok to stick his in there :?
There are a few Audi Clubs on here: http://www.midlandsbreakfastclub.co.uk/page7.htm

We'll be going straight there via the M6/M54 from Northampton, takes an hour. Then looking for a nice cruise afterwards and lunch. I'll do some googling and see what I can find.I have no local knowledge, but I'm sure we can suss out summat!!

One question for any sort of cruise/lunch will be how many want to attend and for how long a drive time? It's a massive difference between 2 or 3 Zeds stopping at a pub Vs 20 zeds containing say 30 people landing on them.

Co-ordination and route planning starts to get complex too unless we just have a start and end point with various stop offs and individual small groups navigate. 20+ Zeds (and an Audi) can't convoy.

If I make it, I'm just going to drive cross-country back up to Liverpool.

I prefer my 'runs' in as small a group as possible, so as to draw as little attention as possible, and the avoid the risk of being accused of 'racing' when more than 1 car goes fast (safely of course).
