Middle brake light fix on e86

Hi All,

Was hoping for some help from other coupe owners. My middle brake light still works but some of the bulbs do not light up on the left hand side.

Are the lights all one piece or can you replace the non-working separately? Do not have any warning lights on the dash for this so is it possibly just connection issue?

Just had a look on oem parts site https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=DU52-EUR-01-2006-E86-BMW-Z4_30si&diagId=63_0762
Its only fitted to the E86 and is longer than the E85 version, looks like the price is inflated as well, check out ebay using the part number 63257171815
Might be worth attempting to dismantle your duff unit and wiring in a string of led's to replace whats in there now.

Might have to choose a different length to suit the light unit, how many bulbs in the duff one. Some led strips allow you to cut to required length.
