It's a part that sits under the parcel shelf and works along with the operation of the roof.
 
Used my VIN - but this looks like it - Number 12

just a word of warning/advice, i replaced mine a few months back, the original was missing so i had nothing to use as reference so wasn't sure what it was meant to look like but the metal clip piece was put on the micro switch backwards so it wouldn't fit right and was really p*ssing off that it wouldn't fit, so i decided to pull off the metal clip part... then put it on the other way round and it slotted straight in :rofl:

i hope that makes sense lol :thumbsup:
