Michellin pilot super sports.....pricey!!!

Unless you push the car hard in all weathers they simply aren't worth the extra spend over Hankook's or Vreds

kin ell, just sold a full set to a friend for £750 couple quid less than i paid for them. Getting vred ultrac vorti`s for my new wheels.

Yeah Michelins were just too pricey last time I changed tyres. I was quoted £1,000 from the stealer and £700 from my Indy for 2 Mich PS2s.

Ended up taking new Avon ZZ5s - £600 for 4 tyres.

Just got my bill through for my Michellin pilot super sports for my 19" 313's....... £940 which includes fitment and balanced, my total mod project cost would scare most of you to death im sure!!!
Where do i stop :headbang:
I paid £880 for my first set then £850 for my second set. I tried the Sport Cup Plus, the grip was fantastic but only got two weeks out of them for £1,100 so won't be buying them again.

Two weeks :o

Was was that the longest hotest track session ever?

I got mine from Camskill, think I paid £480 for rears & £360 for fronts on 19 " Worth every penny

You probably could have got away with something a bit cheaper. But great tyres. Too pricy for me.

Have you bought PS3s or P Super sports - got a bit confused earlier in the thread.

I mention it as the Michelin range is pretty confusing , since they replaced the PS2 with the PS3 ( more of a tourer than the PS2) and the PSS - one up from the PS2.

My grandas favourite is "if you can't eat it don't buy it" :)

It's not just about needing to drive above 8/10ths to notice the difference. I've found the PSSs last almost twice as long as OEM Conti's, and other users have found they last 50-100% longer than Vreds/Falkens/Avons.

So the price per mile is about 20-30% less.

£940... If getting new wheels why not get them from camskill... 265/30 and 235/35 is only £864.80 send them to whereever you are getting the wheels from and have them fit it for free?

I had supersports on my company audi... Last forever but i should have got PS2's which were only slightly more.

i've got vred sessantas, i'll likely replace the rears when they go with the same, and when all 4 die i may move to PS3 or whatever the premium Michelin is (the range is too confusing to figure it out..)

I'd say i'll only be changing out of interest though, rather than because there's anything wrong with the Vreds .. and i'll miss the cool tread pattern :P

Why would you go for the older/softer/faster wearing PS2 for more when you've already had the newer/longer wearing/grippier/cheaper SuperSports :?

Are you sure you're not confusing Pilot Sports (i.e. PS1) which were superseded by the Pilot Sport 2 (PS2) with Pilot Supersports (PSS) which superseded the PS2?

It had PS2 originally and the car was smoother and more comfy with them. Admittedly they didnt last as long as the SS, but as it was a company car i didnt care for the cost or longevity!
