Hi all,

I have a pair of Michelin Super Sport with 7mm + test in excellent condition that have covered about 500 miles.

They are 265/40/18

I’ll have to check the DOT number later.

Was looking for £200 ono - happy to post.

Cheers
Simon

Did you have these on 224s? Was there any rubbing issues?

No, I didn’t.

Hopefully someone will be along to advise soon, I’m sure and Mr Wilks will know :)

Which rim style were these fitted to Simon ?
Would be oversized on 8.5j but " ok" on a 9j & ideal on a 9.5j for those running ///M size rubber

They came off my Porsche 18" wheels that I am putting winder rubber on now I have the 19" for summer :)

They were put on 2 days before I bought the car and have seen very little use :)

Your Cayman 987 18s most likely be 9j so same as the style 224 , pretty sure there are ZM owners with 265 40 18 rear tyres so these would fit style 224 rears with little issue ( speedo virtually same ) bit much for 8.5j MV2/108s

This is the size I run on mine...and in my case there is very slight rubbing on compressions and hard left-hand cornering.

It’s only the outside edges of the arch liner that’s in contact, so I replace them every couple of years.

Maybe a slightly different alignment would help in my case, and I can almost completely eradicate it when I crank the suspension to full hard on a summer track day, but I couldn’t drive it like that in the cold & wet, or on normal roads.

However, I wouldn’t say my usage was particularly normal with its mix of high miles and Ring trips - and others on here have been fine with the CSL 19” 265s when they also rubbed on mine (on OE suspension).

After 6 years, I think I’ll be going back to 255/40, in whatever’s considered the best road tyre (possibly Goodyear Supersports) when I change them next. But will have to watch out for the change back to a slightly worse speedo accuracy.

I have them (265/35/19) and they’re fine at stock rear ride height (KWs at max plus a 6mm spacer) and camber (-1.5deg). They’re only ~1mm smaller diameter than 265/40/18, so yeah, in all likelihood these are a good buy for somebody with an ///M on 18s.

Might not work on a non-M with 224s (for example), because of the wider rear axle.

Just thinking back I’m sure I used to run these sizes on my 108 with standard suspention with no issue.
