Michelin PS2's - RFT or Non RFT??

Quick change of plan - there are no Michelin PS2 ZP's in 255/35R18's available...and none due in the country for a while apparently..

Looks like the non RFT god wins this time - I'll be throwing on the standard PS2's then....

Will report back when they're on and I have a chance to test them out...

I was hoping to come on here and say how great these new PS2's are.... (It's ok, gannet, it's not what you think!)

I am unable to get any dealer to have enough stock to fit my car :x

"You can have one rear and two fronts....have you tried the Bridgestones?" etc etc :x

They also seem reluctant to just sell me what they have so I can then take it to have fitted!!
The search continues...
 
Why don't you get a quote then have them order a set so they are all off the same production runs and none have been sitting around for ages etc. ??

The problem, so I am told, is that Michelin don't know when their next shipment will be landing in Australia... :o

I find it incredibly difficult to believe this is the way they run their business, but I've been told this by 3 completely separate tyre places.. Each time they ring Michelin, that's the response they get.. I'm wondering whether the PS2's are about to be replaced by something new or whether it's just poor business!

Nevermind, I'll head out for a drive and use up what's left of the rears... :driving:

OK - all sorted!

Brand new set of PS2's on all four corners..

First impressions - Gannet, you were 100% spot on correct! Ride is MUCH improved, no more crashiness, you can feel the suspension doing its thing now instead of just bouncing around the ruts in the road.. The "tramlining" effect is also MUCH MUCH MUCH better - now the car feels planted and stable, no more twitchiness when the road is not 100% smooth..

Easy to say now, but I should have done this 10,000km ago - it is a different car now - it's how it should have been from the start!

No - was convinced to go the non-RFT PS2's - plus there weren't any available even if I did want them..

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I need two new rear tyres. Do people generally think it is ok to have different brands on the front to the rear. I am think of going down the Michelin route for the rear but currently have Bridgestone with plenty of tread left on the front

Hi Rob, i dont see there's a problem as long as there matched and runflat, i'm going the same way with michelin except mine will be on the front , jmo :thumbsup:

I went though the same though process but was eventually convinced that 4 of the same tyres all around was by far the best option - mostly in reference to RFT vs Non-RFT..

I have just checked the prices on blackcircles. A set of Michelin is about £100 more expensive when compared to Bridgestone. My zed still have Bridgestone on (4.5mm left all round).
