The Atlanta chapter of the NAACP had a press conference earlier this week to defend Vick. It was his friends that did the crime, Vick was not aware of any of it, and of course that he is the target of the "establishment", etc. :x They stated that he is not the kind of person to do any harm to animals, then go on to say that they have never met him. :idunno:

Very disturbing. I don't know anything about APD before I read this post.

NFL, NBA....full of them. Recruited from the finest street stock. MLB has some as well. Vegas will not suffer because of this and other "revelations".

Unfortunately, that is what sells tickets and merchandise. Need more "stars" that are not thugs off the field.

Agreed, but recruitment starts at the street level now at pre-teen levels. College programmes depend on it as well. I say eliminate the "general education" level and increase the scholastic achievement minimums. But who the hell am I?

That has been tried before, and the schools ended up "passing" the stars academically (whether they were attending class or not) to retain the alumni donations. Winning teams get more money, an embarassment happens, then the shouts of "we did not know that was happening, wink wink".

:x

That's pretty much the way it works...

Yeah, research any athlete that has gotten in trouble and find out how many infractions were covered up while they were in college. There usually tends be a long laundry list of behaviors that should have been dealt with the first time. Instead, they get a slap on the wrist and "don't let it happen again, or else you may not be allowed to play ball" speech and the actions continue and escalate.

Vick also has his "cultural" differences with the established rule of law. Phuque him and his type. :ninja:

You can get away with a lot in this country, but if you start messing with animals, especially dogs... :guns:

109 reads and 11 opinions.....wtf?

So he plays American Rugby and has been charged with dogfighting?

Was he in Paisley or Motherwell when this happened as it's a regular occurrence on a Saturday night when the pubs and clubs empty out here in Scotland.

dogfighting....yeah, but dog abuse and murder based on a "culturally accepted level" is cruelty to animals and illegal, nevermind all the other charges.
