mic problems

HI Guys, i've asked about hands free before....and thought it was my phone but i'm having problems with people hearing me so thought i'd ask direct.
i have an iphone4...and no Idrive system but have the built in handsfree and have not bothered with the 'enhance bluetooth cradle'

so i get a call and i have no problems hearing people....but everybody says they cannot hear me...especially when i got on the mway....over 50 people say its muffled and like i'm in a waterfall.

this is all roof up!!!

has anybody experienced these problems before?? or do you report no problems?? i'm taking it to dealer this week for initial diagnosis but thought i'd see and ask what the overall handsfree experience is like for people....in my typeR i had no problems like this at all..but i spend a lot of time in the car and need to be able to use the phone.

No issues roof up at all. People say they can tell I'm hands free with the cabin echo but that's it. It can be a bit worse roof down with all the ambient noise and wind noise. I do have idrive and snap in and Bluetooth etc, not that it should make any difference.
 
I do have the same problem. I don't have the snap in adapter, but I usually have my phone connected to the AUX output (no idrive, so no bluetooth streaming).

Curiously, I've noticed that when the AUX cable is unplugged, the calls seem to be of better quality.

My other half has a 63 plate F20 and when I called him from it today, he commented on how much clearer the call was.

so thats one for one against......its really annoying so i'm taking it in this week to see if they say its bad....to be honest i've tried all ways plugged into aux...or not....i do have a pronav system fitted (like the poor mans idrive) which i'm going to test this weekend cause if the mic on that is better then i'm good to go....

any more feedback very welcome tho and of course i'll let you know what they say
