MFSW Query

I'm looking to upgrade my steering wheel to a MFSW.

I think I will need an additional wiring kit.

I've read some posts that they might not be compatible with a 2003 model registered before sept.

Mine is dated june 2003, can anyone confirm if it will work or if they have done the same please?
 
Hi, I think some 2003 cars have been pre-wired and others not. It might be worth removing the steering wheel cowl to check and see if you have a loose plug and cable. Hopefully you’ll be lucky. If I remember correctly, my MFSW cable was tucked behind some sound deadening sponge so it wasn’t instantly visible.
 
Forgive me for seeming a bit dim, but is it simply a case of fitting the MFSW and plugging it in................assuming the plug is already there?

Been considering getting a Royals refresh on wifey's steering wheel, but no point wasting the money yet if I can get a MFSW instead.
 
yup, if the wiring is already behind the steering cowl it’s just a simple case of plug an play.
On facelift cars and some pre-facelift cars not pre-wired you need to install an additional wiring kit for mfsw to work.
 
Yep, definitely worth removing the steering cowl and checking to see if the cable is pre-wired.
