Is it possible to get replacement plastic pieces? Mine are scratched in a couple of places due to the previous owner wearing a ring (I assume). If so, does anyone know a price? Just the regular MFSW wheel for an 04 3.0i.

Yes you can buy replacement spokes, but dont think they are cheap, mine are starting to wear as I hold the wheel at 3/4 to 3, but black on black so not all that noticable.

Should be able to get part numbers from http://www.realoem.com

Bloody hell, a whole wheel isn't that much more!

If you can replace them, I assume they can be removed and sprayed?

IIRC BMW was in the region of £100 for a full set of the 6 pieces and they come in many shades. Don't quote me on this but I remember walking out the dealers for having a laugh.

Yes they could be removed and resprayed, but it would have to be a good job due to visibility and ease of scratching

After the airbag is off remove the wheel and it's just 6 torx screws clamp them together.

somebody on here wrapped the dash, centre console and door handles in carbon fibre cloth, looked really good

how about getting them wrapped??

that could be cool! i wonder how much a wrap for your steering wheel, dash and centre console bits would be

I've been thinking about the same thing recently (plus roll bars)... it's not much surface area, but I think it's a harder job than the exterior. as a guess maybe around £200??

i wouldnt say it was a harder ob, afterall they wrap the door handles and wing mirrors. similar sort of thing

Interesting idea and could look good in CF. I would expect the steering spokes to be easy to wrap as you would just do the upper 3 parts and tuck the surplus around to the inside and they are nothing like a wing mirror shell in contour complexity.

Roll hoops are harder as you need to split them and they will likely break up. Also being an inverterd 'U' could make it tricky.

Still this is coming from someone who's extertise is limited to wrapping cheese in clingfilm

how durable is the wrap? im just thinking about the area near the armrest, when your arm is rubbing around on it.

with that it's not the wrapping that's the hard part!! it's trying to bl**dy rip it off the crappy blades on wobbly cardboard they're attached too whilst not trying to get the clingfilm not stick itself!! :headbang:

but lets not get way off topic. i think wrapping is a really good route to go and you can wrap it in what ever you want... aluminum, CF, pink, flowers... the list goes on...

jesus! thats much cheaper than i thought it would be for some reason.

in a way its a bad thing! im already starting to think what adhesive im going to buy! :P

fleabay, I have just ordered a sheet from the first link to do my handles.

is 25cm long enough?

for the proper 3M stuff....

http://www.foliencenter24.com/3m-di-noc-ca-421-carbon-schwarz-rollenware.html

it'll work out to be around £145 for 200cmx122cm. not sure how long the dash is though. is it longer than 2m?

but then you need the tools, glue, etc so you're probably looking in the £200 region i mentioned before.

Took a gamble cant be arrsed to go and measure, I have posted some dimension on the centre console and long dash trim on the other posts I llinked to.

I only need the handles though, so should be cheap and easy to do :D
