MFSW, phone operation, manual?

Lifted up the carpet to get the pass key and phone connected. Can dial out and receive calls too, although it's not especially loud.

Couple of questions though:

- the owners manual says refer to phone manual, but the one I have is purely for logging on/off. Is there another that tells me how to use the phone book features and the MFSW?

- when I check the audio display, there is a phone number stored that I do not recognise. Is this a previous owner who has input a number manually? This is the only one I've found unless there is a scrolling feature I'm yet to discover.

- when I dial out, I do not hear it ringing... then out of nowhere I hear the other person! Can this be changed?

Any links to previous similar situations or advice is greatly appreciated :-D

If the sound is low, try increasing the volume on the head unit whilst a call is in progress, should improve it.

Have the booklet with the phone box on, that just shows logging on/off, nothing about phone book.

Tried cycling through any numbers, but none of mine are there (incompatible Galaxy S3?) just that one number that I do not recognise.

Will try volume knob next time and will meanwhile trawl some other sites to see if any further pearls to be had.

There is a way to clear all previous pairings, can't quite recollect it at the moment but was on a recent post. That way you can remove all stored numbers.

Yep, next on the list tomorrow morning :-) Should clear that number then can simply use the phone dash mounted as per previous.

Only part still not sure about is why no "ring tone" when I dial out?

I get that, sometimes it rings, sometimes it doesn't. Think it depends on time between Bluetooth connecting, muting audio and pickup at the other end. Haven't heard of a way to preset it TBH.

Thanks for that, I'll see if I can pick up any pattern on that myself and, if so, will let you know.

To clear all pairings do the following:

Put the phone in pairing mode
1. Press and hold the phone button in the cubby door for around 5 seconds. Don't release it...
2. Turn the ignition key to the first click only. The screen should come up if you have nav
3. Release the button. The screen should now say "Pairing" or similar.

To clear all pairings simply press and hold the button in the cubby door until it beeps multiple times then release the button and you should see a message that all are cleared.

Then turn off the ignition and repeat the pairing process above and you should be good.

The main gotchas are if the switch has a poor contact and releases before it should, or if you go past the first ignition space. It's too bloody fiddly by far!

If you have an Intravee you can put the car in pairing mode, it's through the extras menu I think.

If your mic is located on the roof near the rear view mirror like mine you'll find it a total bag of sh1te for actually speaking to people. I think when they moved the mic onto the steering column it vastly improved things.

I have the flip up nav screen and my phonebook automatically displays on there really well. I think texts can be read there too. Shame I can't actually have successful phone calls though! :headbang: Hope your mic is better than mine!

Mic is on the steering column and when stationery at least I can be heard! No contacts coming through though. Have posted another thread to see if there are other options. :)

I think the phonebook transfer may be down to individual handset compatibility. My Blackberry just did it automatically in the 2003 Zed but won't do it in our 2010 Qashqai.
