MF Steering Wheel

Just fitted the MF wheel I got off Matt on this site and the wheel went on a treat.

However, I have a very early 2003 model car so I know I'm going to need the link cable which I will sort next week.

Can someone confirm whether the MF controls need the link wire to work? I would have expected the link wire to control the lighting of the buttons only.
 
On a pre 09/03 you will need the retrofit cable. It can be purchased as a single cable.
Without it nothing will work
 
cable sorted the problem...£15 + VAT for a poxy cable!!!

BMW must have worked out a number of people are retrofitting as I only paid £4.95
