Meyle HD lower arm ball joints?

Hi all

Looking to replace my front lower arm ball joints and according to the previous owner they're Meyle HDs wishbones.

Would anyone know if the ball joints in the Meyle arms are removable, or whether I'm looking at a whole new arm? I'm seeing ball joints online which seem to suggest they are separate, but the BMW specialist I took it into had it up in the air and said they couldn't just replace the ball joint, it would have to be a whole new arm.

Am I having my leg pulled?

Sorry if that appeared sarcy, not my intention, I genuinely have no idea

To be fair my BMW specialist agreed with you, so who knows whether they will fit or not! Leads back to my asking if anyone knew for sure.

Thanks
Owen

They are replaceable - they're a press-fit, but it's a real faff, by the time you've paid someone to press them out it's likely a similar cost to replace the whole lower arm again!

Agree with Ed Doe, going to be a faff to take the old one out and press the replacement in using a hydraulic press. You should also ask yourself if one ball joint has failed the others won't be far behind. I would budget on replacing the arms and the rear positioning bushes as a whole on both sides of the car. They will probably outlast your ownership.
