Metallic rattling/clunking from gearbox when depressing clutch in first/reverse gear

Hi, my friends!

I own Z4 e85 2004 with m54b30 engine and 6 speed manual transmission.

There are some strange sounds that the box makes and I can't figure out if this is normal.

1. When I roll in first/reverse gear and depressing the clutch, a gradually fading sound of rattling (somewhat reminiscent of dry friction) of gears is heard in the area of gearbox (it lasts literally a second and is no longer heard). I would suggest that the sound resembles the rattling of a shaft or gears in some kind of bearing. Moreover, this sound can be avoided by depressing the clutch a little earlier than releasing the gas.

2. What is more or less embarrassing - this sound of rattling or dry friction of gears, which was described in the previous steps, is heard when I move in reverse gear with semi-clutch and fades out in the same way if the clutch is depressed.

On the gears above, nothing is heard and it works presumably ok.

IMPORTANT: Dual mass flywheel with clutch kit replaced about 5000 km ago.

Thank you, and have a good day!

I would check that the clutch hydraulics are properly bled of air and that the slave cylinder is not leaking.
Also that no oil is passing seals in to the clutch bell housing, I had the same symptoms on another car, later developing in to a clutch judder and required new main shaft seals.
Or either the clutch or DMF are failing again, or that the alignment was out when the clutch was installed.
Sadly most of the above require clutch removal to diagnose and fix if it really bothers you, let us know how it goes.
