Metallic dragging noise?

Odd one this.

I have a 2007 Z4MR with what I can only describe as a new metal-dragging-on-the-road noise from (I think) the rear, perhaps nearside, when manoeuvring at very low speeds.

Obviously nothing's hanging down beneath the car (checked that!) and the only other thing I could think of was that the exhaust might be rubbing on something. However the local indy has poked it with prybars and announced all secure. Anyway it seems more related to the vehicle movement rather than a vibration or anything.

No strange noises or vibration when driving, just when (eg) reversing into a parking bay.

Any suggestions as to what I might be looking for please? It's got me worried now! Will take the car down to my preferred garage for a check over in the near future, but in the meantime - thoughts? Many thanks in advance for any help.

Piece of broken spring that has fallen out and is dragging on the disc? I'd take the wheel off and have a look

thats exactly what i get from time to time... like a metal twig dragging along, it seems to come from the back left side wheel... but nothing there, or hanging down. i did notice on mine that a brake caliper clip had come off, so ive ordered one of those, but that can't be it... right?

does that sound like the same thing as you?

Yep that sound very similar. Not like anything heavy, a "metal twig" is where it's at! Actually what first came to my mind was whether I had somehow trapped one of those gratings that covers soakways round the edge of garages... but no, I hadn't.

Glad to know I'm not alone! :)
