Metal Dust Caps!!!

I fitted a set to my 1 Series - never again.

Luckily 2 pairs of pliers did the job, but the didn't do the rubber valve stems any favours!

Yep I've tried a socket, 2 pliers, wd40, heat.. nothing, it's like they are welded.

Booked in at a local tyre garage Thursday. I'm taking the wheel that the fitter tried separate so it can be sorted, refitted, then I'm driving the car down for the other 3 to be sorted. Fingers crossed it gets sorted as the nice weather is lingering around here.

I put a set of Honda badged ones on a motorbike once. Luckily for me, somebody nicked the caps while I was at work, and replaced them with some nice plastic ones

Used a 3/8" socket on mine, grips all the way round and with leverage from socket handle eventually released without splitting rubber stem.

metal dust caps should go the same place as locking wheel nuts...

Car is now back on the road with fresh rubber and plastic dust caps

Had the same with my 1 series, had valves replaced and lovely plastic dust covers!
