 i'm from the bay (california)
so.. i'll just be straight...

what kind of driving does it take to mess up a brand new zed by 25 thousand miles? i'm really curious, only because i drive somewhat aggressively but my zed is perfectly fine.

That would surely do it! :P

Even though I think what mystik wants to know is what kind of thrashing this car can take.
I would not know, I trash mine regularly, but only have 10.000 or so miles so far. (Correction, I don't do it, the car forces me to do it, I'm only happy to oblige :) )

My guess is it can take a lot, much more than what some spirited driving on public roads can possibly do to it.
Track it regularly and give it all your got and you might start to see some results.

Notice the tow bolt in the front so they don't mess it up

My Z is close to 20,000 miles now, and has done 4 outings to the 'Ring, two trackdays, and otherwise gets driven in the evenings and weekends (ie: for fun!). However, it is serviced on the dot, has intermediate oil changes (so approx every 6,000 miles), and is never taken above 3,000 rpm until the oil is up to 75deg, and all the lights are out...

It feels like the day I picked it up (only a bit quicker ;)). These cars will easily take hard work, so long as they're still looked after and not abused. Even then though, you'd probably see 25k miles with no issues.

Mess up? Hmmmm, eat a chicken vindaloo and a gallon of beer. Your interior will be messed up (your pants as well!). :slaphead:

I do believe you win the "Question of the Month" award.

it's nice knowing this ultimate driving machine can keep up with my aggressiveness.

and, for the most part... i just let the car drive itself -- it likes to go fast.

mystik, You have one of (if not thee) best BMW CCA Chapters in the USA. If you aren't a member, I highly suggest getting involved. They are a superb group of people and have outstanding driving events. Go for it!
